About Us
Raging Cider & Mead Co is a scrappy little family run cidery and meadery making loud, unapologetic cider, mead, fruit wine, and wine, all grown and made 100% right here in San Diego County. No imports, no shortcuts, just local fruit, local honey, and a bit of good natured rebellion.
We kicked things off in 2015 when Dave and Kerry Carr decided to turn their love of orchards, fermentation, and old school punk rock into something worth raising a glass to. The name Raging Cider is a nod to those early punk days. Fast, loud, and a little bit wild. Over time their kids, Travis Carr and Sierra Carr, jumped in as partners after years of getting their hands dirty in the orchards and production.
These days we farm a small orchard in Valley Center and look after three more scattered across the hills from Palomar Mountain to Julian and Guatay. Our approach to farming is regenerative, respectful, and a little stubborn about doing things the right way. We also harvest from a few other local orchards, work with neighboring growers, and occasionally wander off to forage wild and feral fruit trees that most people walk right past.
What ends up in the glass is about as honest as it gets. Our ciders and wines are natural and minimal intervention, and many of our meads follow the same philosophy. Every mead we make starts with raw local honey and whole fruit. Nothing weird added and nothing important taken away.
Our tasting room is small, cozy, and built for good conversation. There is an outdoor patio for sunny San Diego days and an expanded outdoor space where we host the occasional party, gathering, or barrel-rattling live show.
